We highlight the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ in our Android tablet buying guide for those who just want to spend as little money as possible on a powerful tablet. If that’s you, take note: The 11-inch device is on sale now for $170 at a variety of retailers, including Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy. This deal is technically a few weeks old, but it still represents the lowest price we’ve tracked. For reference, Samsung tablets typically sell for $220. Both graphite and silver finishes are discounted.

That’s in line with the lowest prices we’ve seen for the best budget options in our Android tablet buying guide. Another version with more RAM and storage is also on sale for $220, another record low.
Amazon $170
But note that this price is for the base model, which includes 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The latter is expandable via microSD card, but the limited memory may cause some stuttering if you want to use the tablet for anything other than casual streaming and web browsing. Samsung sells a higher-spec model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage: it’s better suited for gaming and more sophisticated uses, and it’s $50 cheaper, at $220, another record low.
As my colleague Sam Rutherford points out in our buying guide , the Galaxy Tab A9+ isn’t likely to wow you in any one area, but it covers the basics pretty well. Its 11-inch LCD display is a decent size and has a faster-than-usual 90Hz refresh rate, which helps the UI scroll more smoothly. The screen has a 16:10 aspect ratio, so it’s better suited for landscape mode than the 4:3 display on the iPad. The metal and plastic frame is sleek for the price, and the 7,040mAh battery should last a day or two of casual use. While no Android tablet can truly offer a great software experience, most people should find Samsung’s One UI simpler than something like Amazon’s Fire OS. The company said it will provide operating system updates with the final Android 16, and security updates by October 2027.
That said, this is still a cheap tablet. The Galaxy Tab A9+’s Snapdragon 695 chip is fast enough, but it’s underpowered, with charging speeds maxing out at a relatively meager 15W. There’s also no fingerprint reader, included stylus, or official waterproof rating. If you’re not tied to Android, one of Apple’s iPads will still be more well-rounded (although we expect new models to arrive in the coming weeks). Still, at this price, the Galaxy Tab A9+ is still a solid choice if you’re on a tighter budget.
