You know those people who say they would donate a major organ to own a luxury car? Ask them if they feel this way. Polestar’s latest model has made its North American debut at the New York Auto Show, but notably, it lacks a rear windshield. The rationale is that rear passengers have better headroom and a more comfortable ride than in other cars. Meanwhile, the driver gets a high-resolution display in the original rearview mirror, connected to instant feedback from the rear camera. Considering people’s heads or luggage often obscure the view to the rear, this is a deal I’m happy to accept.
