    Zayo Group’s “near-net” expansion will bring 100G connectivity to Western Europe

    Zayo Group, an expert in fiber optic network infrastructure, has revealed that thousands of businesses across Europe will be able to access connections up to 100G thanks to its near-network expansion.

    This development will enhance connectivity options for businesses in the UK and Ireland, the Netherlands, Germany and France, providing powerful and high-speed network solutions to meet customers’ changing IT infrastructure needs. This allows Zayo to quickly and easily connect organizations close to its fiber optic infrastructure.

    Zayo currently provides near-network connectivity to approximately 7,000 buildings in eight major European markets. Expansion in markets including London, Manchester, Amsterdam, Stuttgart, Berlin, Dublin and France is planned for 2024.

    Omdia data highlights that 63% of enterprises have invested in private data centers to achieve 100G connectivity, while 54% are working with multiple public cloud providers to achieve the same results. Zayo’s near-network expansion will eliminate this need by providing reliable, scalable connectivity to thousands of businesses near its fiber infrastructure.
