From AI-powered robots to face-scanning smart locks, the gadgets powering the home of the future are here and on display at CES 2024, the annual consumer technology show in Las Vegas. Technology companies are here to showcase their latest innovations in cars, TVs, laptops, smart home devices and more. edge Head to Vegas to get a closer look at all the new technology poised to take our homes into the future.

After looking at hundreds of gadgets over three days, smart home reviewer Jennifer Pattison Tuohy summarizes the technologies that caught her attention. In the video above, she goes room-by-room, showing how this smart home technology can make life more convenient, comfortable, and energy-efficient. Here are some of the products she highlights in the video:

Insulation technology has changed little in 50 years. But this JennAir smart refrigerator features the world’s thinnest refrigerator insulation, helping to make the most important gadget in the kitchen 50% more energy efficient. It features new SlimTech insulation developed by Whirlpool Corporation, a revolutionary technology in insulation that will soon be available in other appliances in your home.

Artificial intelligence is an important theme at this year’s CES, and Samsung’s Ballie has been loved by people. Ballie is a home robot powered by artificial intelligence, a voice-controlled assistant with a built-in projector, just like a mobile smart display. It can follow you and respond to your commands, including showing you messages on a projection screen; controlling your smart lights, locks, and robot vacuums; and making hands-free phone calls for you.

You may be familiar with robot vacuums that sweep and mop, but the Matic is a whole new breed of robot vacuum. With more brains than brawn, it can navigate like a self-driving car instead of a vacuum cleaner, use gesture recognition to clean wherever you point it, and soon automatically proactively seek out and clean dirty areas of your home.
