New Year and New Hopes are usually the best intention – I may have failed at one of my goals – but the right tools (and solutions, if I’m honest) can make achieving them much easier.
Of course, with the advent of wearables and smartwatches, half of our guides are fitness-themed, but smartwatches can help you develop better habits and even remind you to meditate, which is what I’m talking about this week on Apple Watch function set above.
We’ve also included to-do list app recommendations, cable TV decluttering advice (that’s a weak New Year’s resolution), and help on how to develop a new reading habit in 2024.
What is your resolution for the coming year? What will you do (or buy) to achieve these goals?

CES 2024: What we can expect to see in Las Vegas this year
Wireless TV, plug-and-play solar and next-generation headphones.
The Engadget team is gearing up for another trip to Las Vegas (militarily speaking). CES is back. LG will bring a 4K projector with a strange handle to CES 2024
The CineBeam Qube weighs only 3 pounds.
LG’s latest 4K projector looks a bit like, well, I’ll put it this way: a piece of art from TJ Maxx. I say this from a loving perspective: I want a projector like this. I mean, it has a handle that looks like a crank! This style really exposes the high-tech undertones. CineBeam Qube can shoot 4K images up to 120 inches, using RGB laser light source, 450,000:1 contrast ratio and 154% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage.

Meta’s Quest 2 headsets are about to get cheaper
After the launch of Quest 3, the price was permanently reduced to $249.
According to Meta’s official Quest blog, following the launch of Quest 3, Meta will permanently reduce the price of the Quest 2 VR headset to $250. Regardless, the Quest 2 has been on sale at this price since Black Friday, but a new official retail price could lead to a better deal on the previous-gen model in the coming months.

Check out this fantastic time-lapse of Mars
The Curiosity Mars rover from NASA.
NASA’s robotic Mars rover has been given a period of rest because natural phenomena could interfere with communications. Before the pause, the Curiosity rover was parked but its Hazcams were taking pictures. By the end of this phase, Curiosity had recorded more than 12 hours of a Martian day passing from its stationary position, as the Sun moves from dawn to dusk.
Take a look.
