Just days after Alphabet and Google Chief Executive Sudar Pichai warned of more layoffs this year, the company is cutting more employees at its moon landing laboratory. Alphabet is also reorganizing X (not to be confused with the former Twitter) to make it easier to spin off projects with the support (i.e., funding) of outside investors.
Astro Teller, head of X, told employees in a memo that the company is “expanding our approach to focus on spinning out more projects into independent companies through market capital funding.”
X attempts to solve larger challenges and problems around the world, such as , , and , but it has yet to achieve sustained success through its spin-off businesses. The company hopes this will refocus exciting ideas into those that have a future.

NVIDIA has finally rented a beta version of the RTX Remix tool. The software is intended for modders and can add ray tracing and AI-upgraded textures to older games. For those who know what they’re doing, it’s capable of an end-to-end remaster of any DirectX 8 or 9 game from the past. NVIDIA releases list of compatible games – classic games like “The Call of Duty 2”, “Hitman 2: Silent Assassin”, “Garry’s Mod”, “Freedom Fighter” and Need for Speed Dungeon 2.

Apple’s latest TV series tells the story of an astronaut, played by Noomi Rapace, who makes an emergency return to Earth. According to the trailer, it’ll be full of wonky narration twists — and it’ll be in HDR, so it should really pop on the new Vision Pro headphones.
