Happy Friday, guys! Well, now that Christmas is officially behind us, the offers are drying up fast. Still, there are some deals worth parting with those newly minted gift cards. For example, Amazon’s latest Echo Show 8 has dropped to a new low, while the Tile Mate is back to its best price yet. There’s a lot of other stuff on sale right now, including a great pair of noise-canceling earbuds and OnePlus’ first mechanical keyboard, so let’s get started.
First, Amazon has apparently decided to save some of its best deals until after the holidays, or at least until after Christmas. at the moment, Third generation Echo Show 8 $89.99 with Amazon Prime ($60 off). That’s an all-time low, easily beating the smart display’s recent Black Friday price of $104.99.
If you’re looking for an Alexa-enabled smart display, you can’t go wrong with the latest Echo Show 8. It’s a powerful device that’s faster than the previous-generation model in 2021 and delivers better sound through redesigned speakers and a system with spatial audio support. What’s particularly useful about the new Show, however, is that it supports up to four widgets and can be used as a Matter controller, Zigbee hub, and Thread border router, allowing you to use it to easily control a variety of smart home devices.
If you’re not in the market for a full smart display, don’t worry because Amazon is currently discounting it too 4th generation Echo to the lowest price to date. Currently, Prime members can buy this smart speaker on Amazon for $49.99 (half price); if you don’t have an Amazon Prime membership, it’s also on sale at Best Buy and Target for just a little more 10 USD.
Even though the newest Echo launched in 2020, it’s still a great speaker that sounds better than the newer, fifth-generation Echo Dot. While it’s not a full-blown smart home hub like the Echo Show 8, you can still use it to control a host of compatible smart home gadgets, including lights, smart plugs, TVs, and other devices. If you’re using an Eero mesh Wi-Fi network, it can also act as a range extender while allowing you to set alarms, get news reports, and perform many other tasks using just your voice.
If you want to get involved in the world of mechanical keyboards, OnePlus Keyboard 81 Pro It is currently on sale through OnePlus in Winter Bonfire configuration, with dual-color PBT keycaps and tactile switches, priced at $179 ($40 discount). If you prefer lighter colors, you can also get the Summer Breeze configuration with “Marble Mallow” keycaps and linear switches for $199 ($40 off).
After spending some time with OnePlus’ first mechanical keyboard, my colleague Jon Porter concluded that it’s like a OnePlus-branded alternative to Keychron’s top-of-the-line Q1 Pro. Both offer hot-swappable switches and can be customized using the VIA app, but OnePlus’s offering also comes with a few extra features. The Wireless 75% motherboard features a height-adjustable stand, as well as quieter cylindrical keycaps, making it ideal for office use.
