An updated version of Tesla’s Model 3 sedan, released last fall in Europe, the Middle East and China, is now available in North America. Reportedly codenamed “Highland” during development, it features some noticeable tweaks to Tesla’s mainstream electric sedan.

Externally, the distinctive bulge on the front end has been removed, giving it a sleeker hood and low-profile headlights compared to the older model, which Tesla says is “targeted for maximum aerodynamics.” Optimized,” which should mean greater range. It’s also available in two new colors: Invisible Gray and Ultra Red.

The new 2024 Model 3 refresh is now the only model listed in Tesla’s configurator as available for order, and as buyers have seen in other markets, there are only two versions available instead of three: with dual motors long-range all-wheel drive model or a cheaper rear-wheel drive version. At least for now, ordering the previous top performance model is no longer an option.

The 2024 Long Range Tesla Model 3 has an advertised EPA-estimated range of up to 341 miles, up from its predecessor’s 333 miles, while rear-wheel models still have a range of 272 miles.

Both versions start at the same price as last year’s car, but there’s one change. Specs on Tesla’s website list a top speed of 125 mph for both versions of the new 2024 Model 3, while the 2023 rear-wheel model has a top speed of 140 mph, and the long-range version has a top speed of 140 mph. is 145 mph, with performance models reaching a top speed of 145 mph. 162 mph.

Tesla’s upgrades for the new model include new acoustic glass, an overall quieter cabin, improved ride quality through updated suspension tuning (which may be important), “more sophisticated” interior materials, Ventilated seats, customizable ambient lighting, a brighter center touch screen with smaller bezels and better contrast, and an upgraded sound system with up to 17 speakers.
