At CES 2023, Roland launched a streaming mixer called Bridge Cast, which provides creators with a way to send different audio sources to different destinations and allows them to easily create mixes, Add sound effects and remove unwanted audio. Now, the company has launched a successor to the device called the Bridge Cast X, which adds video support on top of all the audio-centric features of its predecessor. Bridge Cast

As for audio, creators can plug in broadcast-quality XLR microphones and headphones (if they use those accessories). They can also adjust the sound to ensure they can hear the game’s audio and voice chat more clearly than any background sounds. At the same time, they can play different mixes and optimize them for maximum audience engagement. The unit features dedicated volume knobs for different input sources and audio outputs, and features programmable buttons that creators can use to mute specific sounds and perform various functions.

On the software side, the BGM Cast service on Roland Cloud will allow creators to access thousands of royalty-free music tracks and use them as sound effects and background audio. They’ll need to sign up for a Roland Cloud Core membership, which costs $3 per month or $30 per year to access all of these tracks, but a free account still gives them free access to 36 background music tracks and 16 sound effects. The Roland Bridge Cast X will begin shipping in the United States in February, priced at $500 for buyers.
