Philips Hue is expanding its line of outdoor smart lighting with a new model called Dymera, which can shine up and down to create a dramatic effect on the outside (or inside) of your home. The lights feature a black design and two individually controllable beams, allowing you to set lighting and individual colors for each beam using the Philips Hue app. You can also use the app’s library of scenes to create a more cohesive look. The Dymera lamp will be available February 27 for $220.
The brand (now part of Signify) also launched the Philips Hue Pendant Light Line ($50, February 2024), designed to be used with Philips Hue filament bulbs. For example, the idea is to create a lighting feature above a coffee table or dining table, with its color and brightness controlled by the Philips Hue app. It’s 3D printed from bio-recycled materials and comes in black or white sizes to best suit your decor.
There are also several Perifo connectors (on sale for $35 in April 2024) to expand the capabilities of your track lighting. The Perifo T connector allows the rail to run in three different directions to brighten a room, while the Perifo Flexible Connector gives you complete control over the rail’s shape, allowing the rail to run in any direction beyond the normal 90-degree angle.
In addition to these new products, Philips Hue has also added new black and white color options to the Being ceiling lamp, as well as three new color visions to the Philips Hue Go portable desk lamp. The company also announced that its Philips Hue Secure Camera Starter Kit and Philips Hue Secure Floodlight Camera are now available. The kit includes a Philips Hue Secure wired camera, two Philips Hue Secure contact sensors, two Philips Hue bulbs and a Philips Hue bridge to control all your devices. Finally, Philips Hue says it will update the Hue app’s security center in the first half of 2024, adding push notifications, automatic light and sound alerts, and Alexa and Google Home compatibility.
