Natural Climate Solutions Alliance – World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD)

Natural Climate Solutions are nature-based solutions to climate change. Natural Climate Solutions (NCS), including actions to protect healthy ecosystems, improve working land management, and restore all types of land and coastal ecosystems; they can achieve the ~1.5°C required to limit global warming to 1.5°C by 2030 30% emissions reduction. In addition, they provide many socioeconomic and environmental benefits, such as protecting and restoring biodiversity, providing ecosystem services and supporting sustainable livelihoods. But despite its huge potential, NCS has attracted little public and private investment.

this NCS Alliance (NCSA) Established to provide a voice for businesses, NGOs and solution providers to mobilize demand for high quality NCS with high integrity. The NCS Alliance focuses on identifying opportunities and barriers to investment in NCS voluntary carbon markets and serves as a forum for knowledge sharing and technical capacity building to ensure natural climate solutions realize their full potential in mitigating climate change.
