A few months after Meta launched its Quest 3 headset, the company is permanently cutting the price of its older Quest 2 headset by $50.
The 128GB version is down from $299 to $249, and the 256GB version is down from $349 to $299. Notably, the headphones have been on sale at new prices since Black Friday. However, Meta decided to keep these prices permanent.
The company also offers a range of Quest 2 accessories at lower prices:
- Quest 2 Elite Strap with Battery: $119.99 to $89.99
- Quest 2 Elite Strap: $59.99 to $49.99
- Quest 2 carrying case: $59.99 to $44.99
- Quest 2 Active Pack: $69.99 to $59.99
- Quest 2 Fit Pack: $49.99 to $39.99
In July 2022, Meta raised the price of the Quest 2 headset by $100, from $299.99 to $399.99. When the company first announced the Quest 3 last June, it dropped the price of the Quest 2 headset to $299.99 to potentially sell more devices.
While Meta offers more than 500 VR games, it struck a major deal last year by letting Roblox launch games for the Quest headset through the Meta Quest Store.
The Quest 2’s price cut may entice people to buy the headset to try VR instead of shelling out $500 for the Quest 3.
