TLG has just announced a new line of OLED TVs just days before CES 2024 kicks off next week in Las Vegas. Surprisingly, the LG Signature OLED M4 and OLED G4 TVs feature newer AI processors that deliver four times the performance of last year’s models. The Alpha 11 AI processor is dedicated to enhancing image and audio quality, improving visual performance during gaming by 70% compared to the previous generation.

The AI chip can amplify objects and backgrounds to reduce blur, and is said to analyze and adjust colors to “best convey the mood and emotional elements the filmmakers want to convey.” LG also promises more “three-dimensional” images, thanks to its proprietary Dynamic Tone Mapping Pro technology, which can dynamically fine-tune brightness and contrast. The AI chip also supports virtual surround sound and even separates vocals from audio tracks to enhance dialogue.

The resolution is still 4K, but the refresh rate has been increased. Last year’s models were capped at 120Hz, but the M4 and G4 now offer a 144Hz refresh rate. Obviously, a high refresh rate is great for watching action-packed content and playing games. To this end, each TV can access LG’s webOS platform to watch streaming content and play games through the cloud.

Some people watch live music on TV in a nice white living room.

The M4 comes with LG’s proprietary Zero Connection Box, which wirelessly streams audio and video without the need for connecting cables. This technology provides real-time video and audio transmission at up to 4K resolution and 120Hz update rate. This is for those who are absolutely committed to a clean living room aesthetic.

Each of LG’s new OLED TVs supports NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync, which is great for gamers. The panel also features LG’s Game Optimizer selection screen, allowing users to instantly switch between display presets designed for different game types.

Pricing and availability are still up in the air. Maybe we’ll get more information at CES 2024 next week. In addition to this launch, LG also announced an absolutely massive 97-inch M3 OLED display and a 98-inch QNED model.

We will provide live coverage of CES 2024, which will be held in Las Vegas from January 6th to 12th.Get all the latest news from the show here.
