Cohesity, an expert in AI-driven data security and management, has partnered with Intel to bring Intel’s confidential computing capabilities to the Cohesity Data Cloud.

Powered by Fort Knox, Cohesity’s industry-leading network vault service, this innovation in data encryption in use will be a first for the data management industry.

Cohesity and Intel are working together to solve one of the most pressing cybersecurity challenges facing CIOs. Traditionally, when data is actively processed in memory, options for protecting the data in use have been limited, which can result in data being unencrypted and vulnerable to insider attacks. Confidential computing powered by Intel Software Guard Extensions (Intel SGX) will enable Cohesity customers to reduce the risk posed by potential bad actors accessing data while it is being processed in main memory. This is especially important for heavily regulated industries such as financial institutions, healthcare and government.

Cohesity’s flagship platform, Cohesity Data Cloud, has long included proven, cutting-edge technologies that help the world’s largest organizations manage and protect their most critical data from cybercriminals. Cohesity and Intel are working together to reduce customers’ exposure to cyber threats by:

    • Create a unique solution to protect encryption keys to protect customer data in a hardware-secure environment and leverage Intel SGX for confidential computing in the cloud.
    • This solution greatly reduces the risk of data leakage because while the data is encrypted in memory, no privileged account can view or download the data.
    • Provides a way for Cohesity customers to verify that their Intel SGX is legitimate by using Intel® Trust Authority, which has the latest patches and only runs dedicated Cohesity applications before extracting data encryption keys.

“We are relentlessly focused on innovation to further our mission: protecting the world’s data and delivering insights,” said Sanjay Poonen, CEO and President of Cohesity. “Working with the largest and most trusted names in technology, like Intel, is the world’s largest enterprise Reasons to rely on us to enhance the resilience of their businesses.

“With Intel SGX, Intel Trust Authority and Confidential Computing, our customers will benefit from reduced risk and increased security in cloud environments, allowing them to focus on what really matters: their business.”

“Intel is a pioneer and leader in confidential computing technology for the data center, enabling customers, especially those working with sensitive or highly regulated data, to meet their demands for confidentiality, integrity and confidentiality,” said Greg Lavender, executive vice president and chief technology officer of Intel Corporation. and demonstrated need for their workload.

“Cohesity’s adoption of our technology reflects customers’ growing need to protect critical data in the cloud and advances our shared goal of delivering a secure computing environment with the trust our customers expect.”
