Acer announced several gaming monitors today ahead of CES 2024, but the star of its new lineup is clearly the Predator Z57 – a 57-inch, 120Hz curved monitor with a pixel span of 7680×2160. It uses MiniLED backlighting for better contrast than typical LCD monitors, and Acer says it will be available in the United States in the second quarter for $2,499.99 and in Europe for €2,399.

The Z57 will come with AMD FreeSync Premium to reduce screen tearing, and feature a 90W USB-C PD port, dual HDMI 2.1 ports and a single DisplayPort 1.3 port, as well as a built-in KVM switch to use it with multiple devices. Acer says it has 2,304 dimming zones and HDR, with a peak brightness of 1,000 nits. It can also display videos from multiple sources simultaneously using picture-in-picture or side-by-side split-screen modes.

The company says the screen will also cover 98% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. It’s also VESA compliant if you want to mount it to the wall. I believe you; just make sure to use a stud finder. Acer’s new monitor features dual 10W speakers and an adjustable stand so you can tilt, swivel, raise or lower it.

You can compare the Predator Z57 with the 57-inch Odyssey Neo G9 released by Samsung in the same period last year. Their displays are very similar, although there are some notable differences. First, at 240Hz, the G9 has twice the refresh rate of the Z57, and it also has more dimming zones than Acer lists, at 2,392 — 88 zones isn’t a huge difference, but it’s worth pointing out. Especially in this regard. size. Additionally, the Odyssey Neo G9 recently sold for just under $2,000 in the United States, which is currently $500 less than the Predator Z57’s announced price.

For a smaller option, Acer also announced that it’s updating its tiny 34-inch Predator X34 OLED curved monitor with a 240Hz panel (up from 175Hz). According to Acer’s announcement, the company also released a larger version of the same monitor – the 39-inch Predator X39, which otherwise has the same specifications.
