It often feels like we live in a fully connected world, but anyone who’s ever found themselves without signal when they need it can tell you that’s far from the truth. Emergency satellite connectivity is reportedly a solution to this problem, which the Google Pixel 9 series and the next-generation Google Fold will allegedly offer. Android AuthorityKamila Wojciechowski. It is said that this feature will be available to T-Mobile customers first as the T-Mobile network provider partners with SpaceX to establish satellite messaging. It may be available on other networks in the future.

The messaging service is said to ask users questions such as “What best describes your situation?” and “Are weapons involved?” It’s unclear whether the feature will be free for Google Pixel 9 and next-generation Google Fold users. T-Mobile has not confirmed pricing for its satellite messaging service in previous announcements.

If the news is true, Google will follow in the footsteps of Apple, which launched its own emergency SOS satellite feature kingdom at the end of 2022 for iPhone 14 users in countries such as the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, and the United States. The tool has since been expanded to the iPhone 15 and to countries like Australia and New Zealand, which have large wilderness areas that lack cellular service.
