Making keyless mobility even easier with a system that retrofits to most existing deadbolts. You don’t need to replace your existing hardware with the Yale Approach Lock with Wi-Fi. This is a smart lock for indoor use only, and Yale says installation only takes about 10 minutes, and all you need is a screwdriver to help you get the job done. It also has a fairly slim profile, sitting just 1.6 inches from the door.

After installing the smart lock, you will be able to use functions such as automatic locking and automatic unlocking. If you’re not home and want a friend to come in to water your plants or check on your pets, you can unlock your door remotely through the Yale Access app. What’s more, the Yale method is tenant-friendly. It’s located on the back of most standard door locks, and you (and your landlord) can continue to use the same key. In addition, Yale Approach works with Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Philips Hue and Samsung SmartThings. Will be added later.

Also new is the Yale Keyboard, which is compatible with the Yale Method, several other products from the company, and many smart locks. With the one-touch lock feature, you can lock and unlock your door with a personalized code. You can provide guests with unique access codes. The backlit keypad is also IPX5 rated for weather resistance, and you can place it anywhere within the lock’s Bluetooth range. Yale plans to release a version later this year that will let you unlock doors with your fingerprint.

Both products are now available for purchase on the Yale and August websites in the US. The Yale Approach is available in black suede or silver and costs $130, while the Yale Keypad costs $70. The bundle is priced at $180. The devices will be arriving on Amazon and other retailers soon. They will also be sold in Canada through Amazon.
