What else can you say about X (formerly known as X)? Twitter, it’s never boring.There’s always something going on at the 17-year-old social media site we’ve been using; inside best case scenarioit can be funny or weird enough to make you laugh.
Case in point: Throughout 2023, Twitter users decided to post entire movies on the site. Sometimes they are divided into multiple parts, sometimes the entire movie is presented in a single post. It all started in April with the following dual features: super mario bros. and “Avatar: The Way of Water”, The latter is distributed over three positions. The quality of these two movies is truly incredible, you can see them on DVD (or, you know… watch them in theaters), they’re on the website for hours and have a lot of views –mario 9 million views, while Avatartotal Can’t tell for sure because it was deleted first.Although both films were eventually taken down, the account responsible is still online at the time of writing and immediately uploaded the entire 2007 film Bee movie.
Just for fun, I keep track of movies that I’ve seen that have been uploaded to Twitter, or that my io9 colleagues and some friends have told me about. The list includes: John Wick: Chapter 4 and Creed 3 in May; The Lord of the Rings: The Lord of the Rings, The Flash, Titanic, and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse in June; Spider-Man: No Way Home, Transformers: Beast Rise and 2011 wonder woman Trial launch in July; Barbie, first saw, and SawX October, finally Oppenheimer Mid-November. It’s possible that I missed a few, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that it happened, and of the accounts that posted these movies, only two or three were suspended – but it’s unclear if that was because of the upload of the movie specifically or if it was a separate thing.

Just like watching a truly great or enjoyable movie in a movie theater or at home with friends gives you a sense of community, so does watching a movie on Twitter.it just has an added benefit Wow ah ah ah It’s cheaper, and no one needs to spend five minutes fighting the user interface.
