Tesla has halted Cybertruck deliveries and told owners of “unexpected delays in vehicle preparation.” Kabasi Reported. One buyer in the Cybertruck Owners Club said he was informed that Tesla had issued a recall due to an accelerator issue.
Tesla wrote to another user: “We have just been informed of an unexpected delay in preparing your vehicle. We will need to cancel your delivery appointment for Sunday and when we are able to get you back on schedule, We will contact you again. “We apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to providing you with a Cybertruck delivery service as soon as possible! “
One owner posted a TikTok showing potential issues that may exist. Due to too much lubricant on the gas pedal, the cap may come loose and slide forward, becoming lodged in a gap in the floor. This effectively resulted in the throttle being fully engaged, creating an obviously dangerous situation. However, Tesla has not confirmed the specific reason for the delay or recall.
Tesla says deliveries should resume on April 20 (yes), but the situation could have a ripple effect that slows down deliveries later. The car finally entered production late last year after numerous delays, but it also received other complaints from buyers. These issues include insufficient visibility, difficulty off-roading, potential danger to occupants due to lack of buffer zones, CCS adapter issues, lower than expected range, discoloration of stainless steel body panels, and more.
