Back in 2019, the family of Apple engineer Weilun Huang (aka Walter Huang) sued Tesla a year after he was killed in an accident involving a Model X while Autopilot was engaged. The automaker has settled the lawsuit — on the day of jury selection. Tesla’s lawyers asked the court to sign a settlement agreement so that the amount of damages would not be made public.
Shortly after the crash, Tesla confirmed that Autopilot was on at the time of the crash, but also insisted Huang had time to react and had an unobstructed view of the divider. In a statement to the media, the company maintained that the driver was at fault and that the only reason the accident occurred was that Huang “failed to pay attention to the road conditions.”
An investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) found Huang was playing a mobile game but could not confirm whether he was holding his phone during the impact.

Replace the Fairbuds battery within 30 seconds.
One big problem with the boom in true wireless earbuds is that they are almost never repairable. Once the battery dies, they’re over. However, Fairphone makes a pair of headphones that not only have batteries that can be replaced, but batteries that can be replaced easily. Fairbuds are made from 70% recycled and fair materials, while 100% of rare earth elements and tin are recycled. They’ll cost €149, and we’ll likely see them in the US at some point, just like its phone counterparts.
