In addition to 4K footage, you can also shoot in HDR format at 5.3K resolution and up to 60 frames per second. You can also shoot in 4K at up to 120 fps with support for 10-bit color. The vertical shooting feature makes it easy to capture footage of apps like TikTok even when the camera is in a horizontal orientation.
GoPro’s stabilization technology is also put to full use here, with the company claiming that HyperSmooth 6.0 can give you “incredibly smooth footage, no matter how rough it is.” The horizontal lock option should keep the horizon steady as you move the camera.
The microphone also has a 3.5mm microphone port and a micro HDMI port, thanks to directional audio support provided by the microphone on the included Media Mod. You can also connect AirPods, Bluetooth headphones, and wireless microphones to the camera, and even use voice commands.
The battery grip allows you to control the camera with one hand. It has a built-in tripod that you can detach to remotely operate the GoPro Hero 12 from up to 30 meters (98 feet) away.
