Panasonic Connect’s new 4K/IP CCU delivers powerful IP connectivity: AK-UCU700 Series | Business Solutions | Products & Solutions | Press Releases

Tokyo, Japan – Panasonic Connect Co., Ltd. today announced that it has developed the AK-UCU700 series of new camera control units (CCUs) to support multiple IP migration paths for the company’s existing 4K studio camera systems.^*1 AK-UCU700 offers 4K and HDR operation, flexible IP migration of existing operating systems, and an easy-to-operate 3.5-inch LCD touch screen. It will be released in the first quarter of next year (Gregorian year).

With live events now regaining their pre-pandemic momentum, there is growing demand for hybrid operations that combine on-site and remote video production. Additionally, viewing environments are rapidly diversifying, requiring support for various resolutions and aspect ratios as well as simultaneous distribution to multiple media. As the live production industry migrates to IP-based systems, Panasonic Connect’s new AK-UCU700 series will enable a variety of IP studio camera systems to output IP directly from the studio camera and provide seamless migration from traditional CCU-based baseband IP options system to IP system.

AK-UCU700 will support the new SMPTE ST 2110^*2 IP transmission standards and JPEG-XS can decompress/compress 4K video 10 times without losing quality.As the first in the industry^*3 Dante-enabled studio camera system^*4 Network audio standards and NDI (high-bandwidth NDI) and SRT (secure and reliable transmission)^*5 IP transmission standard, Panasonic Connect’s new CCU will help realize diverse networks and applications for IP studio camera systems.

Users combine AK-UCU700 with Panasonic Connect’s efficient and flexible IT/IP platform “KAIROS” to build a completely IP-based studio camera system to achieve complete shooting, editing and projection.
