Instagram got an unexpected visitor. Meta AI, the company’s artificial intelligence chatbot that can answer questions, write poetry and generate images through simple text prompts, has appeared in your private messages. Meta has warned that Meta AI is coming and has been adding chatbots to products like Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp in the past few months. We all know Instagram is going to be next.
“Our generative AI experiences are in various stages of development, and we are publicly testing a range of them in a limited capacity,” a Meta spokesperson told Engadget. For some at Engadget, the feature appeared directly on Instagram Messages in your inbox.
We can click on it to start a conversation with Meta AI, which can give a definition of the word, suggest a title and… generate an image of a dog on a skateboard.
Ah, the future.
