LinkedIn is testing a new feed of vertical videos similar to TikTok.The feature has not been publicly announced, but it has been spotted by users in recent days and is being tested by the company TechCrunch.
According to content shared by Instagram employee Jenny Eishingdrelo and a video posted by influencer marketing director Austin Null, the new updates will appear in a separate Videos tab in the LinkedIn app. Users will be able to scroll vertically to move between clips, just like TikTok or Instagram Reels.
This isn’t the first time the company has embraced the popular format. LinkedIn has previously experimented with a feature for disappearing posts. The feature lasted a year, but at the time the professional network wasn’t done with its video experiment, saying it was working to “evolve the stories format into a reimagined video experience on LinkedIn.”
Presumably, LinkedIn wants the feed to showcase content from its team of professional creators and thought leaders, many of whom have posted videos to their feeds. However, it’s unclear how many of the site’s users are interested in a dedicated video source of workplace-related content.
