While you were immersed in holiday hibernation, Microsoft quietly launched Android and iOS versions of Copilot (formerly Bing Chat).
Bing Image Creator users are doing some… interesting things with the new DALL-E 3 upgrade
The Android release was first spotted by X user @Technology Salux, and then was collected by Neowin on December 26th. Three days later, Microsoft launched iOS and iPadOS versions of its generative AI chatbot.
Copilot on iOS looks like Bing Chat, but it’s a new standalone app.

The Copilot app functions similarly to the ChatGPT app. It can chat with you, draft messages and emails, and supports text-to-image generation. Since the Copilot large language model is powered by OpenAI, you can switch to using GPT-4 instead of the assumed default GPT-3.5. This is a big deal because you have to pay for a ChatGPT Plus subscription to use GPT-4 directly through OpenAI. But with the Copilot app, GPT-4 access is free. Copilot also owns OpenAI’s most advanced AI image generator DALL-E 3.
The launch of the new Copilot app is a bit confusing, as the Bing Chat feature is already available on the Bing app, which ostensibly has the same look and functionality. In November, Microsoft renamed Bing Chat to Copilot, and the name subsequently became the collective name for all Microsoft’s generative AI products. It’s unclear whether the Copilot app will eventually replace the Bing Chat app, but Mashable has reached out to Microsoft for clarification and we’ll update this story if we hear back.
The Bing app still has Bing Chat functionality and looks similar to the standalone Copilot app.

At the same time, you can access Microsoft’s AI chat features through two different applications: Bing and Copilot.
