For months, TikTok has been experimenting with an auto-scroll mechanism that would allow you to watch TikTok hands-free.
To use the auto-scroll feature, you can press and hold on a video on TikTok’s For You page (similar to the video you want to repost) and then tap the auto-scroll button. Now your feed will slide through videos independently without you having to lift a finger. However, if you land on a photo post, scrolling will stop until you swipe through all the photos.
To turn off the feature, press and hold the phone screen again and select “Manual scrolling.”
Since auto-scrolling is still in testing, the feature is only available to some TikTok users. TikTok’s auto-scroll feature has been highly requested by users, with many searching the web for tips to make their daily TikTok viewing experience more efficient. For example, you can go into your iPhone settings, enable voice control and create a command that slides up on the screen when you speak a phrase of your choice.
The feature follows in the footsteps of YouTube, which tested autoplay in 2014.
