Have you noticed the small disc in the lower right corner of TikTok videos?
This feature notifies the user of the sound playing in the movie (sometimes, if it’s a song, it may also have a musical note icon, but you may have noticed that it’s been a little quieter in recent FYPs). Because of the way TikTok works, users can use audio from other TikTok videos on their own videos, so this subsection actually provides a lot of useful information.
Why is TikTok so obsessed with The Cranberry’s “Linger”?
TikTok sounds can become popular and go viral just like challenges, effects, and filters. With major labels like UMG pulling music from the platform, original sound clips and DIY sounds may be the way to go – and no, don’t upload copyrighted music as original sounds or it will be removed.
While there are many sounds for you to choose from on TikTok, you can also make your own. Let’s see how.
Step 1: Start by clicking the Create button at the bottom of the screen to create a new video.
Step 2: Record the video with sound (The audio in the video will eventually become your custom sound.)
Maybe record a cover of your favorite song. Play a tune on an instrument. Record yourself talking. Makes strange noises. Do whatever you want.
Step 3: Use the bottom and right panels on the next screen to edit the audio.
Use voice effects, add voiceover, or adjust the speed of your clips.
Step 4: Click the big checkmark and publish your finished video.
Step 5: Find your video in your profile and select it to watch.
At the bottom, you’ll notice that the video is playing your original voice.
Step 6: Want to use your original voice in another video? Click on the disc in the lower right corner.
Step 7: Click “Use this sound” at the bottom of the screen.
Step 8: Create a video using your original TikTok audio!
The audio title will appear at the top of the screen.
You are all set! Have fun using and creating original audio. who knows? Maybe your voice could be the next viral TikTok voice.
