Healthcare solutions provider Enhanced Innovation has launched Pholoton, a portable cooler designed for delivering vaccines in remote areas with limited power. This cold chain solution is designed to address last-mile delivery challenges by using integrated solar panels to maintain the required temperature of the vaccine (2-4 degrees Celsius).
Recognizing the limitations of power grids in remote areas, Enhanced Innovations designed the Pholoton with integrated solar panels. This ensures uninterrupted operations even in areas with frequent blackouts or lack of stable power.

Pholoton has a capacity of 2 liters and can hold 40 to 60 vials of vaccine. It also features continuous temperature and location tracking and comes with instant messaging for seamless monitoring. This cold chain solution uses active cooling technology to maintain the critical 2-4 degrees Celsius range for up to 18 hours.
Ankita Mittal, CEO of Enhanced Innovations, said: “Our focus is on working with the public healthcare sector as this is where our solutions can have the greatest impact. We aim to solve the last mile challenges of healthcare delivery, specifically in remote areas with limited access. While vaccine companies are part of our target audience, our approach involves a two-pronged strategy. First, we aim to facilitate the delivery of essential medicines and vaccines. Second, we work hard with the public healthcare system Work directly together to close the gap in last-mile delivery. This requires strengthening infrastructure and ensuring that even the most remote communities have access to safe, timely care.”
Pholoton’s applications are not limited to human vaccines. Enhanced Innovation sees potential in the livestock industry, particularly in preserving animal vaccines and promoting artificial insemination procedures. Additionally, the company is exploring the use of Pholoton in diagnostics to maintain the integrity of samples that require refrigeration during transportation.
Enhance Innovation is actively seeking partnerships with public healthcare systems in India and other developing countries. Their goal in the next five years is to become a leader in last-mile cold chain solutions and expand their business scope to at least two to three regions around the world.
