take me to the moon is an upcoming comedy from Columbia Pictures and Apple that tells the behind-the-scenes story of NASA trying to improve its image as it prepares for the Apollo 11 mission to the moon. The trailer makes the movie look like a light, fun time, although conspiracy theorists may be interested in one key plot point.
Scarlett Johansson plays Kelly Jones, a public relations expert who is invited by NASA to raise public awareness before launch. In addition to clashing with launch director Cole Davis (Channing Tatum) and turning the astronauts into global celebrities, Kelly faces a particularly difficult task: secretly creating a fake version of the moon landing , to prevent deviations in tasks.
The rest of the cast, including Woody Harrelson, looks great too. On the one hand, the delightful Jim Rush (community) plays a very different role from Stanley Kubrick’s “Moon Landing.”The film was directed by Greg Berlanti, the man behind Love, Simon and a series of DC Comics television shows.
