First customizable market solution using USCAR interface based on proven crimp technology

This new customizable automotive Ethernet connector solution supports 10Gbps operation and has unique features that will bring significant benefits to automakers and their Tier 1 supply partners.
ENNOVI launches automotive 10Gbps+ Ethernet connector solution
ENNOVI-Net connectors are designed with a standardized USCAR interface. However, they differ from existing products using this interface in that ENNOVI-Net has press-fit pins rather than through-board solder pins. This patent-pending innovation completely avoids the need for welding.
By using press-fit interconnects, automotive customers can achieve a simpler, faster assembly process with a significantly reduced risk of errors. Since the use of solder is eliminated, there are no problems caused by variations in the amount of solder paste applied (and the capacitance associated with it). Additionally, crimp pins are shorter and have lower capacitance than through-board solder pins, which means less resonance. For both reasons, higher signal integrity can be achieved. In addition, the crimping strategy supports manufacturing operations in a socially responsible manner, with minimal environmental impact compared to soldering processes that generate solder fume during assembly.
ENNOVI-Net automotive Ethernet connector design solutions allow customization to accommodate specific board and connector interface positioning for integration into the end application. Therefore, based on the large number of published press-fit pins that ENNOVI supplies to most of the largest automotive Tier 1 suppliers, their specific press-fit pins can be adapted. ENNOVI-Net connectors support an operating temperature range of -40°C to +105°C and have ≥ 25 mating cycles durability.
Automotive-grade ENNOVI interconnects are designed for use in a variety of applications such as ADAS ECUs, zone controllers, radar housings, sensor housings and high-voltage powertrain controllers.
