Delinea, a provider of seamlessly scalable privileged access management (PAM) solutions, has acquired Automize, an innovator in detecting and neutralizing identity-based threats across the cloud.
The combination of Automize’s continuous discovery and visibility capabilities with Delinea’s industry-leading PAM SaaS solution will extend the reach of the Delinea platform for comprehensive privilege control in the cloud, while extending its role to provide protection against identity-based attacks such as accounts. Strong defense against takeovers, insider threats and lateral movement. CIEM and ITDR capabilities will be delivered through the cloud-native Delinea platform, furthering the company’s vision to extend PAM to the modern enterprise. The acquisition of Automize also established the Delinea research and development (R&D) center in Israel.
Osterman research shows that 80% of enterprises now use multiple clouds, and 76% lack complete visibility of access policies and applications across multiple clouds, increasing the threat landscape. CIEM extends control to SaaS applications and public cloud infrastructure to minimize the risk of privileged cloud identities. A June 2022 report from the Identity-Defined Security Alliance revealed that 84% of organizations experienced an identity-related breach in the past year, with 96% saying they could have prevented or minimized it by implementing identity-centric outcomes. Minimize leakage. ITDR works across all identities to detect threats and reduce risk through better visibility and remediation.
“The combination of Delinea and Automize enables customers to detect and mitigate active identity threats across SaaS applications, cloud and hybrid infrastructure,” said Art Gilliland, CEO of Delinea. “Extending human and non-human identities beyond traditional firewalls requires Continuously understand all SaaS applications, the connections between them, and across hybrid environments. I’m excited to bring the Automize team to Delinea, which greatly expands the reach and role of the Delinea platform to help organizations of all sizes reduce costs and Identity-Related Risks.”
Expand least privilege in the cloud, detect threats, and reduce risk for all identities
Automize CIEM enables enterprises to extend least privilege controls into their cloud environments by continuously monitoring access permissions, usage changes, and connections between cloud services, SaaS applications, and IAM solutions. Newly authorized ITDR will enhance protection against threats across all identities by detecting abuse and responding to attacks.
On the Delinea platform, enhanced capabilities will identify and resolve issues such as stale accounts, over-privileged identities and privilege escalation paths, significantly enhancing cloud security by proactively detecting and mitigating threats while maintaining operational continuity. This approach will most effectively protect assets and data while reducing risk without introducing complexity.
“This marks an exciting milestone in our mission to significantly enhance the identification and mitigation of identity-based risks,” said Phil Calvin, chief product officer at Delinea. “Our combined technologies will leverage continuous monitoring and deliver adaptive and extensive permission controls, all within an integrated cloud-native platform, ensuring awareness and response to protect identities and data.”
Integrating ITDR and CIEM capabilities will expand the Delinea platform’s ability to meet modern PAM requirements as well as emerging use cases, including:
- Improve privilege visibility across multi-cloud environments with continuous discovery of all privileged access
- Continuously monitor and protect all identities to detect threats and automatically reduce risk in any application or service
- Simplify and accelerate security and compliance audits with automated User Access Review (UAR) and out-of-the-box policies
“Joining Delinea is an exciting continuation of our innovation journey and Authomize’s commitment to detecting and eliminating identity-based risks in the cloud,” said Dotan Bar Noy, CEO of Authomize. “We look forward to establishing the Israeli R&D center and expanding Delinea’s presence in the cloud.” business in the area.”
“Together, we will dramatically expand and enhance permissions security across the enterprise and address growing identity threats across the industry,” said Gal Diskin, chief technology officer of Automize.
