With the growth of SmartBiz and new advancements in its broadband platform, Calix unlocks significant growth opportunities for broadband service providers to expand their business offerings in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, enabling seamless delivery of managed business services
San Jose, CA and London, October 16, 2023–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Today, at its annual Customer Success and Innovation Conference, Calix, Inc. (NYSE: CALX) announced significant innovations in its broadband platform that will enable broadband service providers (BSPs) to rapidly scale their business market. Enhancements to the Calix platform will enable BSPs to provide a wider range of businesses with the services they need to thrive. The development of Calix SmartBiz™ will provide BSPs with more ways to simplify secure managed Wi-Fi and network management for small business owners with multiple locations, and create new revenue opportunities. The company also announced a new business solution to simplify the delivery of premium managed business services to corporate offices, entertainment venues and other mid-sized businesses.
The development of SmartBiz, which launched earlier this year in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, will enable BSP to simplify network management for small businesses that are the backbone of rural and suburban communities, including retailers, restaurants, RV parks and more. Over the past three decades, America’s 33 million small businesses have created 63% of new jobs. Canada’s 1 million small businesses employ 64% of the workforce. In the UK, 5.5 million “small and medium-sized enterprises” account for 61% of private sector employment.
Off-grid management capabilities enable BSPs to serve small businesses located both within and outside their network range. Small business owners can intuitively manage multiple networks and oversee employee authentication through the customizable CommandWorx™ mobile app. Guest Wi-Fi analytics will provide small business owners with insights to improve customer experience, while paywalls will create new revenue opportunities.
Calix also announced the launch of ManagedBiz™, providing top-tier managed business services to mid-sized businesses such as corporate offices and entertainment venues. Enterprises of this size often deal with multiple locations, remote workforces, limited IT resources and complex network security requirements. ManagedBiz will leverage the power of the Calix platform and BSP’s trustworthy reputation to provide managed services and support to enterprises.Broadband teams can also access Calix Cloud® Management portal to help business subscribers with deployment and monitoring.
The Calix innovation roadmap includes plans to launch new Wi-Fi systems for large offices (Calix GigaPro™ p4) and vast outdoor locations (Calix GigaPro™ p6dx). The expanding system portfolio will also offer managed firewalls, Wi-Fi controllers and local networking to meet the indoor and outdoor needs of ManagedBiz users.
