After abandoning plans to develop its own electric car, Apple is still looking for the next revolutionary product to help it maintain market dominance and become a new revenue source.according to Bloomberg’s Chief executive Mark Gurman said one of the areas the company is exploring is personal robots. The company reportedly began researching robots and electric vehicles at the same time, hoping to develop a machine that would not require human intervention.
While Apple’s robotics project is still in its early stages, Bloomberg The company said it has begun developing a mobile robot that can follow users around their homes and has developed a desktop device that uses the robot’s mobile screen. The idea behind the latter is to have a machine that can mimic head movements and can target a single person in a group, presumably for a better video calling experience. Since the robots should be able to move on their own, the company is also looking into using navigation algorithms. According to the report, Apple’s Home Devices team is responsible for its development, and at least one engineer who worked on its scrapped electric car project has joined the team.
However, robots are not like the cell phones people use today. need Them in their lives. Apple is apparently worried about whether people will be willing to pay a “high price” for the robots it has in mind, and executives still can’t agree on whether the company should continue developing these projects. Gurman has previously reported that Apple could sell its electric cars for $100,000 — and if that’s true, it has greater potential to boost the company’s revenue. But the Apple Car is now out of the market, and the company will reportedly focus all its attention on the Vision Pro and new products for the home, which will also include a home hub device with an iPad-like display. Of course, Apple could still abandon these projects, and it could look for other product categories to invest in if it finds they could bring in more money in the future.
