    With the Vision Pro finally on the market, many consumers are curious about Apple’s AR/VR headset and the apps that come with it. While some are from companies you know—Disney+, Max, TikTok, Zoom, Reddit, etc.—there are also plenty of independent developers launching apps optimized for VisionOS.

    From space puzzle games to apps that let you view interior design projects in 3D, here are some VisionOS apps from smaller developers that users can try out when the headsets arrive. We will continue to add more to this list as they become available.

    game

    Soul Spire

    Spire of Souls is a space puzzle game developed exclusively for Vision Pro. Players must free friendly little ghosts trapped in color-changing cubes.

    Blackbox is a unique space puzzle game where instead of tapping or swiping, players must interact with the puzzles (which appear as floating bubbles in the physical world) in other creative ways, such as singing and spinning, among other things Methods that don’t involve using their hands.

    Ploppy Pairs is a card matching game that can be played with friends and family via SharePlay during FaceTime calls. You can also move, scale, and rotate the cards so they appear in front of you on the coffee table, or so they are as large as your floor. Additionally, Ploppy developer Michael Temper is launching a hidden object game called “Where is Ploppy?”

    Doodle Draw is a simple digital drawing tablet where you can brainstorm ideas and unleash your creativity to draw doodles using a variety of brushes, pens, markers and colors.

    Tiny Fins is a cute underwater game where you guide a school of fish through rings of bubbles, avoiding enemies like sharks and squid.

    Luna

    Loóna is a relaxing space puzzle game in which you must assemble 3D models that can be transformed into animated scenes.

    Tend your virtual garden on your living room coffee table with Wylde Flowers. This cute farming sim is perfect for players who want a magical game like Animal Crossing where they can use spells to control the weather and transform into a cat to roam the farm.

    NowPlaying has all your music knowledge and exploration needs covered. Search for your favorite songs, learn details about the artist, view recommendations, experience 3D models of the Grammy Awards and other music awards, and even win trophies that can be displayed on a virtual shelf. Thanks to its ShazamKit integration, it can also identify which song is playing in your environment, whether it’s from a vinyl record or a TV show playing in the background.

    DJ app and AI mixer Djay is designed to recreate the live DJ experience, featuring an interactive hyper-realistic 3D turntable with controllable knobs and buttons, different futuristic environments/backgrounds, and a built-in music library.

    Music video editor Spool lets you create music videos and add visual effects by clicking on the visual pads while playing.

    AmazeVR concert

    AmazeVR Concerts let you watch live-action 3D footage of your favorite artists in a rendered virtual environment. AmazeVR is also available on Meta Quest and has previously hosted VR concerts with T-Pain, Megan Thee Stallion, Zara Larsson and UPSAHL.

    The pinch gesture is the primary point of interaction with the visionOS interface. Spatial Symphony is a gesture-controlled synthesizer that acts as an instrument when you move your hands in the air. The developers say the idea came from theremins — real-life musical instruments that make sounds when you move your hands in the air. There are controls for waveform, reverb, distortion, chorus, scale capture and more. Additionally, Spatial Symphony includes three-dimensional waveform visualization, making sound waves move toward you in 3D.

    Animog Galaxy

    Animoog Galaxy provides a virtual synthesizer playing experience that blends the resulting visual and audio sounds with your environment. Using a variety of physical gestures, you can play and modulate sounds, as well as change the background of over 120 available presets, including futuristic sci-fi themes.

    tappr.tv essentially lets you create laser performances with your fingers while listening to music. You can also create dances and post them for other users to enjoy.

    Numerics is a dashboard app that lets you pull KPIs from over 90 tools, including HubSpot and Google Sheets, to view all your tasks in one place.

    Project management tool OmniPlan introduces the Vision Pro dedicated application, which allows you to visualize Gantt charts in large, room-sized windows. Omni Group is also bringing other apps to the headphones, including OmniFocus, OmniGraffle and OmniOutliner.

    GIG Space

    JigSpace allows anyone to present their ideas by using 3D content, audio, video and text in spatial presentations. The company cites its work with the Alfa Romeo F1 team as an example (pictured above), where it built a life-size C43 racing car.

    focus

    Focus is a task management app that uses the Pomodoro Technique. You can start and stop timers and track the progress of different tasks. You can also place a small focus timer window on the side while you’re browsing other apps. The app is free for the first year on Vision Pro. After that, users can pay an annual fee of $39.99 to use it on iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Mac.

    Things keeps track of all your to-do lists. You can interact using your eyes, hands, and voice to move the viewport or hide the sidebar to focus on one list at a time.

    Parchi is a simple and convenient note-taking app that allows you to convert recordings into yellow sticky notes.

The app also allows you to compare availability with colleagues and personalize the clock by assigning it to a specific event or renaming it after someone who lives in that time zone.

    Learning Snacks scatters the words you’re learning throughout the space, and then you have to put them together to guess the correct word.

    The themed app helps students track courses, assignments and grades, and is now available in Vision Pro.

    Foxar has 3D models that help students visualize the solar system, atoms and molecules, the human body, and more.

    insight

    If you’re studying to become a heart surgeon, or you’re just curious about one of the most important organs in the body, Insight Heart lets you view a floating 3D human heart, which can be dissected to view different parts such as the heart skeleton, Myocardium (muscle tissue), etc. It also shows signs of various heart conditions, such as heart attacks and atrial fibrillation. The app is also helpful for virtual lectures, as the SharePlay button lets you invite others to multi-user sessions via FaceTime.

    Sky Guide has redesigned the Constellation Finder app for Apple Vision Pro, giving you an immersive experience built specifically for spatial computing so you can imagine you’re gazing at the stars at home. The app also uses gaze detection to aim a laser pen at planets and stars, and gestures to zoom in or pull out constellations in the sky.

    Planner 5D, a 2D/3D home improvement tool, is bringing its interior design capabilities to Vision Pro. Users can view 3D design projects, customize items with their eyes and hands, explore an extensive catalog of furniture and home decor, and experience renderings and 360-degree panoramas in VR mode.

    Da Vinci Eye’s AR Art Projector enables artists to project transparent pictures or stencils onto any surface so they can easily trace, engrave or cut. For example, they can use the app to project an image onto a wall to help outline a large mural they’re painting in a room. There are also editing features such as image filters and the ability to deconstruct any photo.

    Basketball game creation app Elite Hoops has launched a VisionOS app so basketball coaches can map out plays and defenses and see their drills come to life in their living rooms.

    Juno

    Since YouTube decided not to develop an app for Vision Pro, independent developer Christian Selig, known for the third-party Reddit client Apollo, has made one. The $5 Juno app uses YouTube’s embedding API to load videos in a web view and provide playback controls. (Read more about Juno here).

    Söka is a goal tracking app where you can create different bucket lists and track them. It lets you do things like mark countries you’ve visited on a virtual map, browse photos to add to your goals via Unsplash integration, and discover new events.

    Art Universe is a space app where you can view art created by real artists and place them on the walls of your home. There are more than 100 artists on the app, covering abstraction, surrealism, impressionism, minimalism and other genres. You can browse the artist’s portfolio and even purchase the available art.

    Since many streaming services have launched native apps for Vision Pro, something like Callsheet can be useful when trying to find details about movies and TV shows. Using data from the film database, Callsheet makes it easy to find information about cast and crew. There’s also an option to hide character names, episode titles, and thumbnails to avoid spoilers.

    Vision Pro launches alongside Apple’s Mindfulness. But if you’re looking for another app, Zenitzer has features like a meditation timer, daily tracking, and immersive sounds.

    Longi: Space

    Lungy: Spaces offers a series of interactive breathing exercises that allow you to listen to relaxing music, click on floating objects, and play virtual instruments.

    Wellness app Odio offers immersive spatial soundscapes – artistic animations combined with ambient sounds designed to help you escape daily distractions. Odio also lets you share your favorite soundscape sessions via SharePlay and experience 3D audio with head-tracking-enabled devices like AirPods Pro and Beats Fit Pro.

    Endel provides an audio-visual experience where you interact with gesture-controlled light particles that may resemble shooting stars, warm sunsets, or rays of light. Furthermore, Endel explains on his website that the soundscape adapts on the fly. For example, they can react to inputs such as time, weather, heart rate, and location.
