Sellers on Amazon will soon be able to create product pages simply by copying and pasting links.

Amazon is releasing a new generative artificial intelligence feature that takes information from a seller’s external website and then generates an Amazon product page for that item, complete with written descriptions and images. The goal is to help sellers reduce the time it takes to bring products to Amazon from different sites, Mary Beth Westmoreland, Amazon’s vice president of global selling partner experience, said in a blog post.

Amazon warns sellers that if they choose to post a URL to create a product page, they must be the owner, rights holder or have a license to use the linked content. Otherwise, Amazon said it may take legal action if the seller is found to have misrepresented its ownership of the site. edge Contact Amazon for more information about this feature’s safety guidelines.

The feature is available now and will be available to U.S. sellers in the coming weeks.

Westmoreland said sellers have embraced the AI tools Amazon has rolled out so far. For example, Amazon’s AI product text generation service found that “nearly 80%” of users accept AI-generated listings, with little need for human editing.

Amazon has been investing in generative artificial intelligence across the company. Its cloud service AWS hosts multiple artificial intelligence models and has also launched a text-to-image generator. AWS powers artificial intelligence on e-commerce platforms.
