The R1 is a cute AI device that brings all your phone apps to one place

Rabbit founder and CEO Jesse Lyu is troubled by the different apps we have to open every time we want to get something done on our phones. So he came up with a device that manages all your apps for you. Think of it like a voice assistant, but more advanced.

Rabbit’s R1 is a 115-gram pocket-sized device that runs Rabbit OS, which the company describes as “a personalized operating system through a natural language interface.” It deploys a LAM (Large Action Model), which works similarly to an LLM (Large Language Model), except it’s for accomplishing tasks rather than just understanding what you’re saying. LAM is also able to learn any platform or interface. This means you can use this model to power all your applications on R1.

This consolidates many of your services onto one device without the need to switch between apps or constantly enter login information. You can tell R1 to book a Lyft ride from your home to your workplace, and it’ll do it instantly. It also remembers the command and saves it in the “rabbits” list. The next time you book a Lyft ride, you’ll press its push-to-talk button and speak into its far-field microphone.

R1 is also equipped with a 2.88-inch touch screen, analog scroll wheel, 360-degree rotating camera, Type-C charging port and SIM card slot. It’s powered by a 2.3GHz MediaTek Helio P35 processor, and Rabbit says its battery lasts “all day.”

The R1 is priced at $200 and is available for pre-order now, with orders shipping in March.
