Dell showed off two new ultrawide monitors ahead of CES: a 40-inch UltraSharp 40 Curved Thunderbolt Hub monitor (U4025QW) and a 34-inch UltraSharp 34 Curved Thunderbolt Hub monitor (U3425WE). They’ll go on sale next month, starting at $2,399.99 for the larger model and $1,019.99 for the smaller model.

Both monitors come with a gaming-friendly 120Hz refresh rate, although Dell’s announcement blog post notes that the target audience for these monitors is content creators, data scientists, and engineers rather than gamers. One of Dell’s goals is to minimize eye strain. To that end, they also feature blue light output reduction and have built-in ambient light sensors that dynamically adjust brightness and color temperature. This monitor has received a five-star eye comfort certification from testing agency TÜV Rheinland.

Aside from screen size, there are a few other notable differences between the two monitors. The “5K” resolution of the 40-inch model is 5120 x 2160. According to DisplayHDR 600 certification, the peak brightness of its LCD display can reach more than 600 nits. Its Thunderbolt 4 connection can deliver up to 140W of power to a connected laptop, and its spec sheet mentions support for variable refresh rates via an HDMI 2.1 connection.

Meanwhile, the 34-inch LCD screen has a lower 3440 x 1440 resolution and can only provide up to 90W of power through Thunderbolt 4. Its spec sheet also makes no mention of DisplayHDR certification, nor does it support variable refresh rate via HDMI.

Otherwise, both monitors offer similar specifications, including a 2.5Gbps Ethernet port, DisplayPort 1.4, built-in USB-A and USB-C ports, providing up to 15W of power and 10Gbps data transfer, and Various multitasking features (if you want to connect) two computers simultaneously.

The UltraSharp 40 Curved Thunderbolt Hub Monitor (U4025QW) and UltraSharp 34 Curved Thunderbolt Hub Monitor (U3425WE) will be available globally starting February 27.
