Cowboy, an independent and financially sound manufacturer of sophisticated and highly advanced e-bikes, has just unveiled its first all-road bike that makes it easier for riders to escape the cobblestoned city streets and head to higher ground. green pastures.
To that end, Cowboy’s new Cross e-bike features wider 60mm tires, and built-in suspension in the front fork and seatpost to absorb bumps along the way. It also features grippier pedals to prevent your feet from slipping when bouncing, a large 540Wh removable battery with a maximum range of 120 kilometers (75 miles), and an integrated rear rack to carry more items.
I spent some time test riding the Cross e-bike on a variety of surfaces, and by all accounts, it’s truly a beast. First off, the seat suspension is plush, and I hope Cowboys continues this to the rest of their line. The inverted fork suspension and wider tires also come into play, making this (very) heavy e-bike feel absolutely solid on pavement, packed dirt and gravel. There’s no doubt that I wouldn’t want a Cross for my next multi-day bike trip, but it can easily transform from city bike to casual country adventurer.
In my opinion, these bikes look great too. The three new metallic satin paint colors are all earthy tones, including a staid dark gray, a lovely moss green, and a “mushroom” color that seems to change from a dirty silver to a soft purple as the light changes. , then turns into a rusty champagne gold color. The top tube on the step-over frame also creates an interesting floating effect when split around the battery.
Alternatively, this pedal-assist e-bike (available with a step-through or step-through frame) is powered by a belt-driven 250W rear hub Adaptive Power motor and has an EU top speed of 25 km/h, just like the Cowboy’s Like other electric bikes.
The Cross is also the first Cowboy e-bike to feature the new Check My Bike self-diagnostic tool, which allows the company to automatically monitor the operation of the rolling computer, allowing riders to stay on the road longer. The company has also added new real-time challenge gamification features to the app, promising to create “the most fun and engaging riding experience.” certainly.
All of these features are joined by many of the technical bells and whistles that Cowboy is known for, such as collision detection, theft detection, and an excellent proprietary app that integrates Google Maps navigation, which also makes dispatching services a breeze.
When the Cross was launched, the Cowboy was priced at €3,499 (about $3,800), eventually rising to €3,999. Sales start today.
