There are two different filters you can choose from: Subtle and Smooth. While Google says the Subtle filter applies “very light” skin tone smoothing, under-eye brightening, and eye whitening, the Smoothing filter makes all three effects slightly more noticeable.
Judging from the GIFs provided by Google, neither option seems to change your appearance as dramatically as some filters on Snapchat.
