Microsoft launches Copilot Pro globally, offering one-month free trial

After launching its artificial intelligence assistant for consumers in January, Microsoft is today expanding its $20-per-month Copilot Pro subscription to more markets. With this expansion, Copilot Pro will be available in a total of 222 countries, and Microsoft will launch a one-month free trial to attract consumers to subscribe to its future vision of artificial intelligence.

Copilot Pro includes priority access to the latest OpenAI models, the ability to build your own Copilot GPT, and access to Copilot within Office applications (if you are already a Microsoft 365 Personal or Home subscriber). Now, Microsoft has also unlocked Copilot Pro in Office web apps, so you don’t need a separate Microsoft 365 subscription to use the chatbot in Word, Outlook, and other free web apps.

Copilot Pro integration will also be available in the mobile app soon. “In the coming months, we will also extend this benefit to our free mobile apps, including Microsoft 365 apps and Outlook for iOS and Android,” said Divya Kumar, general manager of search and artificial intelligence marketing at Microsoft.

If you want to try Copilot Pro, you’ll need to install the Copilot app on iOS or Android to get the free monthly offer. Since launching the Copilot mobile app in late 2023, Microsoft has been trying to attract consumers to the app, including a Super Bowl ad for the mobile version only.

Microsoft is also expanding the availability of Copilot for Microsoft 365 to more enterprises. “Customers with Microsoft 365 F3 and F1, Office 365 E1, Business Basic, etc. will be eligible to purchase Copilot for Microsoft 365 in the coming weeks,” Kumar said.

Microsoft is now preparing to show off more improvements to Copilot in the coming months, including some Windows 11 changes that may be detailed at the company’s Build developer conference in May.
