Apple released VisionOS 1.1 on Thursday, and the most notable feature is improved user roles. Specifically, the new update improves hair and makeup appearance, neck and mouth performance, and EyeSight’s eye rendering, allowing others to see your eyes when you’re wearing the headset.

In addition, users can now set up their own avatar without the need to hold the device by going to Settings > Characters and selecting Hands-free shooting mode after the initial setup step.

The new version of VisionOS also introduces mobile device management (MDM) to facilitate enterprises to manage their devices. This enables administrators to set up devices for custom configurations, install applications at scale, and perform remote wipes of devices.

The company announced support for enterprise device management last month.

“We know that in order to unlock all [the power of the Apple Vision Pro], enterprises will want to manage these devices at scale. So the good news is we have a lot of great technology in this area that we can bring to Vision Pro,” Jeremy Butcher, Apple’s global enterprise product marketer, told TechCrunch at the time.

VisionOS 1.1 also provides users with many other small improvements:

    • Users can now remove system apps from the home view
    • Improved Mac discovery and connectivity with Mac Virtual Display
    • Improved virtual keyboard to improve text input accuracy
    • Updated closed caption controls when watching Apple Immersive Movies

Over time, developers have developed more apps for VisonOS, and the platform currently has more than 1,000 native apps on the App Store.
