Another day, another lawsuit involving Elon Musk. Four former Twitter executives, including former CEO Parag Agrawal, sued Musk on Monday, claiming they were owed more than $128 million in severance pay.

When Musk acquired Twitter (now X), one of his first moves as owner was to fire Agrawal, CFO Ned Segal, and attorneys Sean Edgett and Vijaya Gadde. According to the lawsuit, Musk harbored “particular anger” toward the former executives, who fought to get him to fulfill his $44 billion promise when he tried to quit. The lawsuit cites Walter Isaacson’s biography of Elon Musk, which quotes Musk as saying he would “go after every single one of the Twitter executives” “until they The day I die”.

Musk has been a particularly outspoken critic of Gadde, who has been involved in several high-profile content moderation decisions on Twitter. After making a bid to buy Twitter, he posted memes Mocking the executive triggered a wave of racist attacks against her online.

It’s not just these top executives who haven’t received severance packages. Musk faces multiple lawsuits from former Twitter employees who are also waiting for checks. Under Musk, the company has stopped paying rent on some offices, leading to more lawsuits and evictions.

Musk claimed the executives committed “gross negligence” and “willful misconduct” in his termination letters, but was never able to produce evidence for his accusations, according to the lawsuit.

“This is Musk’s playbook: keep the money he owes others and force them to sue him,” the lawsuit reads. “Even if he fails, Musk could cause delays, hassles and expenses for others who can’t afford it.” “
