Tokyo, Japan – Panasonic Connect Co., Ltd. announced the launch of a new software-based media production suite that integrates PC software for Panasonic professional camera systems into a convenient platform. It provides access to multiple functions on a single GUI screen for highly intuitive and efficient live video production. The free media production suite also offers a variety of paid plug-ins, which will continue to expand in the future.

As the use of video continues to grow in academia and the corporate world, new media production suites simplify camera setup and provide a wide range of features to support high-quality video production by small teams. The intuitive touch-sensitive GUI screen makes operation simple, allowing even non-professionals to create high-quality videos.

Basic features of device view and PTZ control are included free of charge in the media production suite. Other paid plugins include video mixer, visual presets, and auto-tracking.

The Device View feature allows centralized management of multiple PTZ cameras from a single PC, including camera network settings, status checks and power supplies. It automatically detects all connected cameras and simultaneously performs network settings and firmware upgrades from a PC for efficient network-wide video management. It is compatible with many devices in addition to Panasonic PTZ cameras.

Through PTZ control, users can adjust camera pan, tilt, and zoom as well as focus, aperture, gain, white balance, shutter, and ND filter while viewing the PC video output. It accepts up to 100 presets for smart operation.

Various paid add-ons can also be added to the platform to meet specific needs, such as automatic tracking for precise tracking using facial recognition and body detection to track unexpected movements for smooth automatic video capture.

The upcoming Video Mixer plug-in will use AI technology and AI Keying functions to eliminate the need to use a green background when compositing the background, even when shooting outdoors. It supports P-in-P processing, automatic video switching for connected microphones, and SDI, NDI®* and SRT input/output.

Finally, visual presets allow users to point multiple PTZ cameras at a subject with the click of an icon for multi-angle productions. You can also connect a PTZ camera and a Panasonic wireless microphone to automatically capture video of the speaker, for example in hybrid meetings.

The media production suite is available now and is being demonstrated at the Panasonic booth at the Corporate Production Studio at ISE 2024 in Barcelona.

    * NDI® is a new protocol developed by NewTek, Inc. to support IP video production workflow. NDI® is a registered trademark of NewTek, Inc. in the United States and other countries. In this case, NDI® is used to indicate the high-bandwidth NDI® low latency, and NDI®|HX is used to indicate the high-efficiency low-bandwidth NDI®|HX.
